Live2D, Inc. has released a new set of Live2D models, the Animal Avatars, that are optimized for avatar communication in a video call.

Our research shows that, despite its effectiveness, people are reluctant to use video calls due to privacy concerns. To help people better communicate during the epidemic, Live2D Inc. has released generic animal avatars specially designed for video call. Each of the 11 Animal Avatars have special expressions you can use during a video call, such as a nod to express agreement, a clap to praise the speaker, a laugh to share emotion, etc.

Q1. What is a “screenshot or video of your avatar”?

A1.It refers to taking a picture of a virtual character which is controlled by you using special apps or related technology.

Q2. Is there a specific application or technology I need to use?

A2. No, you can use any app or technology, whether it’s 2D or 3d. Whatever you can use is fine.

Q3. What kind of avatar should I use to enter the campaign?

A3. Any kind is fine. You can use avatars that are pre-installed in a given app or create your own avatar. Make sure you do not infringe rights of a third party.

Q4. When will the winners be announced?

A4. Winners will receive the prize around the end of July. Winners will be contacted via direct message from the official Live2D Twitter account.

Q5. Can I participate by posting on YouTube?

A5. Yes. Your avatar must be seen in the video. Post the video URL and the hashtag on Twitter. This is also true for blog posts.

If the winner resides outside Japan, we will replace the prize with equivalent amount via PayPal. If the winner is unable to receive money via PayPal, your prize will be void.
Private Twitter accounts will not be eligible for entry since we cannot confirm your retweet and follow.
