To use this plan, you must submit an application via the application form and be approved following a review by Live2D.
If the application is accepted, a “Live2D Copyrighted Work License Notice” will be issued allowing use of the copyrighted work (exempt from the licensing agreement) limited to the temporary use (purpose, location, period, etc.) described in the application form.
Reasons for the Creation of This Plan
Previously, Medium or Large-Scale enterprises were required to sign a licensing agreement with Live2D when developing and releasing (publishing) content using Live2D’s copyrighted works.
However, we have received numerous comments from businesses stating that it is difficult to use the product for pre-release promotional activities (such as media interviews and demonstrations at trade shows) because the process of finalizing this agreement involves legal reviews and incurs costs associated with licensing fees.
For this reason, Live2D created the “Live2D Copyright Simple License Plan”, which allows and encourages the temporary use of a Live2D copyrighted work for content promotion purposes.
